With a deep desire to protect students in the northern mountainous regions of Vietnam from dangerous natural disasters such as earthquakes and landslides, I developed an innovative product inspired by the hope of keeping children safe in the most critical situations.
This special desk is programmed using C/C++ on the Arduino Mega platform, with the ability to automatically unfold when an earthquake is detected. It creates a secure space, equipped with essential supplies like food, water, warning lights, sirens, an oxygen tank, and a locking mechanism to protect students. Using SolidWorks, I designed a 3D model of the desk, while Altium was used to create the electronic circuitry.
The product was tested in high-risk areas prone to landslides and floods, ensuring its efficiency in emergency situations. I hope this invention will mark a significant step forward in safeguarding children from natural disasters, providing them with a safer learning environment and peace of mind for their families.
Motivated by the desire to protect the environment and reduce plastic waste, especially in heavily polluted rivers and lakes such as the To Lich River in Hanoi, I realized the importance of protecting clean water sources for the community. With a strong will to turn my concern into concrete action, I developed a robot that collects trash on the water surface as a small contribution to environmental protection.
The robot is controlled by two levers connected to an electric circuit, allowing the direction and speed of the motor to be adjusted when the waterproof switch is activated. A collection net is attached to the robot to collect small floating debris. Using the Arduino Uno R3 board, I learned how to program and integrate hardware to operate the robot. Although I encountered many challenges, especially in programming the Arduino circuit and fine-tuning the motor for stable movement, as well as ensuring the robot is waterproof, I have overcome these problems after many rounds of testing and improvement.
I hope that In the future, this product can be further improved to collect waste more effectively, helping to reduce pollution in rivers such as the To Lich River. By working together, we can protect the water environment and create a cleaner, greener future for our community.”
During the extended period when Vietnam was heavily affected by persistent rainfall, causing severe damage to the lives of people in places like Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, and Lao Cai, I came up with an idea to help protect communities from natural disasters: a device for monitoring rainfall and supporting flood surveillance. As its name suggests, this device not only tracks rainfall but also measures water flow speed, providing greater safety for residents.
The system operates using sensors to measure rainfall and water flow, collecting real-time data. This information is processed through Arduino and transmitted via Wi-Fi or GSM, delivering fast and accurate updates. Developing the device was not easy, especially when I encountered challenges in calibrating the sensors and ensuring data accuracy. However, once safety thresholds are exceeded, the system automatically sends alerts to users via an app or SMS.
What makes the device unique is its ability to run on solar power or batteries, allowing it to function continuously even in remote areas. I hope this product will contribute to minimizing the impact of natural disasters, protecting the lives of those in high-risk flood zones. This is just the beginning of my mission to develop technological solutions to combat climate change and natural disasters.
The inspiration for creating this website comes from my love for the environment and my desire to reduce the impact of natural disasters, especially in the highlands of Vietnam. As I grow older, I have become increasingly aware of the importance of protecting the environment and have always hoped to develop solutions to help improve the situation.
The process of building the website was challenging as it was my first time working with web development. I struggled with programming and displaying content, but through self-study and research, I gradually overcame these difficulties. During the process, I learned basic HTML and CSS skills and developed my problem-solving abilities, further strengthening my determination to contribute to sustainable environmental solutions.
In the future, I hope to continue developing projects that help reduce the impact of natural disasters and promote sustainable environmental protection. With a deep understanding of the importance of the environment, I hope to contribute to creating innovative solutions that benefit both communities and nature.
